When you start to plan out the assortment of products within your boutique, you need to have one goal in mind: to create a variety within your store to entice customers to buy. Sounds easy, right? This is where I see a lot of boutique owners go a little crazy with their assortment or not carry enough of an assortment. It’s a balance between breadth and depth.
Thinking about items as basic and fashion is a good way to help make sure that your assortment is diversified. The mix of items is what makes your store more interesting.
As part of planning out your assortment, you will also need to think about creating a pricing structure. We will talk more about that in the next type!
